Research Volunteering: Pattern Learning in Artificial Grammar
This study involves learning singular and plural forms in a made-up language. By observing how adults learn patterns in artificial languages, we hope to better understand why the world’s languages have the properties they do.
The study will take place in the Phonetics Lab at the University of Manchester (Samuel Alexander W3.18), and should take no longer than an hour. You will be re-imbursed for your time/expenses.
To participate, you must be a native speaker of English with no diagnosed speech, hearing, or learning difficulties. To sign up, go to https://manchester-lel.sona-systems.com — create an account (you only need to provide a name and email address) and login, then select “Pattern Learning in Artificial Grammar” to sign up for a time slot.
If you have any further questions about this study, please email Wendell Kimper (firstname.lastname@example.org).
